I have just taken up playing guitar and have found this book to be a great resource! Not only can I use this for myself but now my kids are really interested in learning to play guitar. I think that this is going to be a great resource for them too! This is easy to use, provided great information and really could be used by a guitarist at any level. I was also so happy to find that it comes with 15 Free Guitar-Lesson and Jam-Track Streaming Videos. I really found the combination of the book and the videos a really great combo for learning. This would make an awesome gift too!
Reviewed Book and Watched Videos. I have a major in music so I understand theory quite well, but I am more of a beginner at playing a guitar, and I think you explained music theory in a very detailed,simple and understandable way, good for any beginner.You explain, 3 and 4 note arpeggios, up to 2 and 3 octaves, scales,intervals, notes, inverted intervals, hand positions, frets-string-pictures to go with every arpeggio. Book is laid out in a nice progressive manner for beginner to advanced. Loved the videos, they are so helpful for a beginner like myself, when I play something, to hear in a video, what it should sound like when done correctly. Videos showed great techniques for tone, and legattos, and advanced moves for more advanced guitar players. Great!!
The guide is excellent! I played guitar in high school and usually would just look up tabletures and learn how to read them on my own. Lots of times learning how to play some of my favorite top 40 hits. But outside of learning how to play those songs with simple tabletures, i found it hard to understand the theory behind guitar seeing I was a vocal student. Guitar is certainly more technical than singing, and is like water and oil when it comes to me. So eventually I ended up letting it go.But lets fast forward to present day. I have long sold my guitar to a friend who played much better than I did, but I have a guitar here at home that I play with. I downloaded the guide and gave it a good read through, it didnt take long for me to get a hang of the theory and the instructions. The big bold print and the step by step directions made it very easy. There are charts and finger placement tabletures that make its very easy to follow along. The videos also make it extremely easy to follow, as well as apply what you have learned from your personal practice and lessons from the book. I have the version on kindle fire, and it is very easy to read and fast as well with loading and page to page flow. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ALL GUITAR LOVERS BEGINNING AND SEASONED!!
My son was given a guitar for Christmas which has been collecting dust. I don't know how to play and can't afford lessons. Between this book and the videos discussed in the book, I believe that I won't be forced to listen to the incessant strumming.The book is designed to be a type of progression. From beginner to advanced, the book offers step by step instructions that build upon each other. As you perfect a skill, the book provides another layer to your skill. One of the things I enjoy is the fact that it isn't just words with one or two charts. This book includes charts with finger placement by string and fret as well as note recognition. If there is a section of the book that you can't quite grasp, run to the videos for a audio/visual demonstration.I would definitely recommend this book.

I would definitely recommend it for beginner or advance guitarists who are thinking of expanding their knowledge about playing arpeggio on the guitar. Not only that the book is great, the free videos are very step by step, easy to follow, with very cool licks which will encourage you to practice more. All in all, absolutely great.
I got this for the family guitar player, and he loved it, and recommends it freely to family and friends. The other guitar items I got for him he insisted that I delete immediately, so he is pretty demanding in this field.
